Biography
Born and raised on the icy slopes of northern NY and Vermont, Tanya moved out west to Colorado in 2000 to pursue her dream of skiing big mountains. In addition to ski instructing, she also coached the Crested Butte and Gunnison freestyle programs and coached for the Alison Gannett’s Rippin Chix Clinics. For the past four years Tanya has been competing professionally as a big mountain freeskier on the Subaru US Freeskiing Series and the World Tour Freeskiing Series. In 2007, Tanya finished 3rd at Freeskiing World Tour Event at Snowbird and finished 8th overall on the World Tour Freeskiing Series. In 2008 she finished 3rd at the Subaru Squaw Freeskiing Open and 7th overall on the Subaru US Freeskiing Series. She has been featured in numerous articles, film and photos including Powder Magazine, Fusion TV and Ski Racing Magazine.
Tanya’s ripping skills, big smile, contagious laugh and passion for skiing will surely rub off on anyone lucky enough to spend a day on the mountain with her.
