Biography
Park City native Ricky Bower saw his dream of the
2002 Games disappear with a blown ACL in his final qualifying run
for the Olympics at the Chevy Truck U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix in Breckenridge,
CO. He was sitting on the sidelines, however, cheering his teammates
on during the 2003 Games……and chomping at the bit to get
back in the pipe where he definitely belongs.
The son of two-time Nordic combined Olympian John
Bower and former U.S. Nordic director; Ricky began riding when he
was 11 at the Canyons, (formerly Park West and Wolf Mountain), in
Park City, Utah.
With surgery well behind him, Bower is back in the
pipe with his signature big airs and grabs. During the warm months
you can usually find Bower carving turns in Park City’s skate
park where his skills are as impressive as they are on the snow.
