Biography
Street joined the U.S. Ski Team in 1989 at age 17.
Since then she’s become one of the best known names in skiing.
Picabo, named after a small town in Idaho, grew up skiing in the mountains
near her home. By the time she was 16 she had won the National Junior
Alpine Ski Championship and soon set her sights on an Olympic medal.
In 1994 she brought those dreams to life by bringing home the silver
in downhill in Lillehammer, Norway. She found herself on the podium
again in the 1998 Games in Nagano with a gold medal in Super G.
With her instinct for speed and photogenic charisma,
Street is a star in her own right.
