Biography
A true Utah native, Matt starting cross country skiing at the young age of 4 moving on to telemarking at 14 and alpine skiing at 21. He now spends his days in the backcountry forecasting for the Utah Department of Transportation. In the summer months Matt works as an Avalanche Forecaster for Minera Pimenton, a Chilean Gold Mine deep in the Andes Mountains. On top of that impressive resume add: camera mule for Warren Miller, backcountry guide for REI photo shoots and 14 plus years on Alta Ski Patrol. In his spare time Matt enjoys skiing big lines in Utah’s Cottonwood Canyons and knows them better than most. If you’re lucky enough to score some of that time with him you’ll be with one of the safest most ripping skiers in the Wasatch Back!
