Biography
Imagine winning a silver medal period. Much less
in your hometown surrounded by cheering family, hometown fans and
friends. Pack doesn’t have the words to describe it and we can
only begin to imagine the feeling of standing at the podium during
the 2002 Olympic Games and receiving the silver.
Joe Pack’s career began as a ski-jumper in
New Hampshire before turning to aerials at age 12. Lake Placid’s
90 meter hill was the largest he’d ever jumped before the family
moved to Park City in the early Nineties. ‘Pack Air’ loves
to go big and when you don’t have a problem being up to 60 feet
off the deck, you must be a born aerialist.
When he’s not training at the Utah Olympic
Sports Park, you may find this all-around athlete on the golf course.
He’s closing in on breaking 70 and is the Ski Team’s most
avid golfer.
Pack is now looking to master the five-twist jump
and has been working with Coach Matt Christensen to reconstruct his
jumping technique.
